Giving Green in the Community

As stated in the University's mission, UNC Charlotte maintains a particular commitment to addressing the cultural, economic, educational, environmental, health and social needs of the greater Charlotte region.

Giving Green in the Community is an ongoing effort to connect UNC Charlotte faculty and staff to the community through the giving of their time, talents and treasures to a greater cause. We accomplish this by coordinating signature community service projects like those that are offered during Giving Green Campaign Volunteer Week. Some of the local nonprofit organizations that we are connecting with include The Men's Shelter of Charlotte, Second Harvest Food Bank, Crisis Assistance Ministry, Autism Speaks, Sow Much Good, Classroom Central, YMCA of Greater Charlotte and Carolina Raptor Center.

As employees, we are given 24 hours of designated volunteer time every year and it is up to all of us to make sure we put those hours to good use!
